How to install a Bot

1) download a bot by

2) start it by clicking on icon "CHAT BOT" on your desktop.

3) To change the text of the bot, open the bot's configuration file BOT.TXT
The file is on your harddisk in C:\Chat.Bot

On the picture, type first c:\chat.bot in (1) then click on (2) and (3)

How to install a Quizz

To create a quizz, you need a quizz file with questions. To see an example, click here

The quizz file must be called QUIZZ.TXT and be placed in the bot's directory (the same that already contains CHAT.EXE and BOT.TXT)

You can't use more than one file.

If you change the questions, be careful to respect the format; don't add empty lines or titles otherwise you'll see an error message when starting the quizz. This error message will show you at which line in the quizz questions there is a problem.

Quizz Commands :

!start	start the quizz
!stop	stop the quizz
!pause	pause the quizz (restart with !start or !pause)
!indice ou !hint	see a hint
!next	go to next question
!score ou !scores	see the weekly scores
!what ou !quoi	to repeat a question when you just entered the room and the question was already asked

If the quizz doesn't start with !start, try to rename your file in "QUIZZ" instead of "QUIZZ.TXT" (notepad often adds the hidden extension .TXT automatically, for more details click here)

Game Action/Vérité

To start the game Action ou Vérité, type !action or !av
The texts in section [action] of file bot.txt must be correctly filled. (click on this link to have details about the format)
You can also add questions in this file.

Game Mine

To start the Mine game, type !mine
Click then on a cell of the table then on the Enter key in order to explore a square of the game.

How to install a script for the game "Scrabble"

For the game scrabble, download then unzip the script SCRABBLE_SCRIPT, and copy it in the Bot's directory.
Then, download and unzip scrabble questions, either UK-QUESTIONS or US-QUESTIONS, and copy them too in the Bot's directory.
If the ZIP files are empty after downloading, try to click on 'Save' instead of 'Open'.

Click on the Bot's window and hit the F5 key to load the script.

The game commands are :

!scrab start	start game
!scrab score	see the scores
!scrab efface	delete all scores (for gold toc only)

Warning: the Bot itself CANNOT do these commands !
The scores are also deleted automatically each week.

How to install a script for the game "The Sum is Right"

For the game "the sum is right", download then unzip the script SCRIPT_COMPTE, and copy it in the Bot's directory.
If the ZIP file is empty after downloading, try to click on 'Save' instead of 'Open'.

Click on the Bot's window and hit the F5 key to load the script

The game commands are :

!compte start	start the game
!compte stop	stop the game
!compte score	see the scores
!compte efface	delete the scores (for gold toc only)

Start a bot without going through the room list

You can start a bot without going through the room list by using the following dos command :

chat.exe -room 127.0.0.1:12000,1,room-name

where 1=english/uk
